Alison Wonderland DJ Set Ruined When Spotify Ads Play Between Songs
Alison Wonderland’s DJ set, at Sydney’s Candy’s Apartment nightclub, was ruined on Thursday when Spotify Ads continually played between songs. The set started around 11pm but quickly crowds were stunned when a Spotify Add played at the end of Wonderland’s hit song I Want U. Ads continued to play every second or third song from that point.
Ashley Sullivan who attended the event took to social media after the show expressing her outrage “Wat da Fuk! I just shelved a couple dingas before the AW set. Instead of bangaz got ads through the whole set”
A post on Wonderland’s official twitter that was removed within a few minutes stated “Really disappointed in Candy’s Nightclub. Unprofessional not to have premium account in this day and age”
The venue have refused to comment but many have observed that Wonderland using Spotify at ‘live’ shows may be a savvy way to earn two pay cheques.
